MY HEART, MY PROMISE” — BVM, Sec-39 Spreads the Message of Heart Health
A healthy heart is the quiet rhythm behind a healthy life, and nurturing it is a promise that begins with awareness. With this thought at its core, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Sector 39, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, observed World Heart Day with a vibrant and meaningful awareness initiative aimed at fostering healthy habits and sensitising students to the significance of heart health.
The campus resonated with a spirit of care and commitment as students and teachers donned red attire, symbolising love, vitality and concern for the heart. Adding an informative dimension to the observance, a specially curated “Red Corner” was set up on the campus, featuring thought-provoking posters and meaningful messages on heart-healthy living, encouraging the school community to make conscious and informed lifestyle choices.
Giving creative expression to the message, Poster Making and Slogan Writing activities were organised, providing students with an engaging platform to articulate their understanding of heart health. Through vibrant artwork and impactful slogans, the young participants conveyed powerful messages on healthy living, physical activity and the importance of caring for one’s heart.
Reinforcing the message that prevention begins with awareness and timely care, a health check-up was also conducted by the school Dispensary In-charge, Ms. Paramjeet Kaur. Students were examined and sensitised to essential practices for maintaining good heart health and developing healthier everyday routines.
The highlight of the observance was the heartfelt “My Heart, My Promise” Pledge, through which students pledged to embrace healthy eating habits, remain physically active, stay adequately hydrated, ensure sufficient sleep and rest, and consciously care for their hearts. They also resolved to carry this message beyond the school campus and inspire their families to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Addressing the students, Principal Ms. Raju Kaushal emphasised the importance of making heart health a lifelong commitment. She remarked, “The heart is not just an organ; it is the rhythm of our life. In the era of fast food and mobile screens, we must follow four mantras — Good Food, Active Body, Enough Water, and Sound Sleep. I want every student to become a Heart Health Ambassador.”
The initiative served as a meaningful reminder that every healthy choice made today paves the way for a healthier tomorrow, reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing healthy minds, healthy hearts and healthy lives.
