BVM Sec-39 Celebrates National Sports Day with Enthusiasm

To mark the 121st birth anniversary of Hockey Wizard Major Dhyan Chand, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Sector-39, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana celebrated National Sports Day with great zeal and sportsman spirit.

A series of activities were organised to inculcate the values of health, fitness and discipline among students.

A motivational documentary on the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand was shown to the students of Classes III to V to inspire them. For health and fitness awareness, students of Classes VI to VIII actively participated in a special PT Session. The senior students of Classes IX to XII showcased their athletic excellence by participating in various athletic events like 100m race, 200m race and long jump.


 Vice-Principal, Mr. Kumar Gaurav, in his message, paid tribute to Major Dhyan Chand and said that sports are an integral part of education. He emphasized that National Sports Day reminds us of the importance of physical fitness and discipline in life and motivated the students to adopt sports as a part of their daily routine for a healthy life.
