*WORLD CANCER DAY OBSERVED AT BVM SEC-39*
To make students aware of the chronic disease cancer, *World Cancer Day* was observed at *BVM Sec-39.* Students were apprised that World Cancer Day is an international day dedicated to raising awareness about cancer, its prevention, early detection, and treatment.
*Various activities such as teacher talks, flash cards, poster making, slogan writing, speeches, and an awareness rally were organised for students of classes I–VIII.* The activities focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding exposure to known cancer-causing substances, and taking preventive medicines or vaccines.
*Ms. Tanika (TGT Science)* in her speech, highlighted that cancer is a serious disease but can often be prevented by adopting a healthy lifestyle. She stressed the importance of balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and avoiding harmful substances.
*Principal, Ms. Upasna Modgil, remarked that the primary goal of the day is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer. She further added that cancer prevention involves taking proactive steps to lower the risk of developing the disease.*
