International Girl Child Day
Saluting the strengths, skills & achievements of the girls child, an “International Girl Child Day” was observed in BVM, Chandigarh Road. The day also sought to promote & provide various opportunities to girls, protect their rights & recognize the hidden talents in them. Students of Primary Wing proudlyparticipated in 'Poem Recitation Competition' with the indelible message ‘A girl is flower; not a thorn’ and in which Bhumika bagged first position, Aarti bagged second position and third position was won by Manyta. Students declaimed to address the urgent need to raise awareness & improve the status of girl child & in ‘Declamation Contest’ Charanpreet & Seerat won first & second position. The main attraction of the day was a power packed skit depicting empowerment of girls& reinforce gender equality.
Addressing the students, Principal Upasna Modgil, said the purpose of this day is to focus attention to recognise, defend & uphold the honour of girls & let then live, let them grow with pride, with freedom.
