BVM Chd. Rd. Celebrated "National Sports Week" with Gaiety 


The "Closing Ceremony" of National Sports Week to mark the birth anniversary of "Padma Bhushan awardee Indian Hockey Champion Major Dhyanchand  who defined Indian sports at the global level, was organized today at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Sector- 39, Chandigarh Road . It was done enthusiastically in which the teachers of the Department of Physical Education honoured the magician of hockey Mr. Major Dhyanchand ji by organizing various games (one leg race, back race etc.) for the students of class I to XI. On this occasion Akshita , a student of  11th and Karuna of  12th , while presenting a statement, highlighted the importance of National Sports Day and the need for sports in the present era. A sports questionnaire competition based on the theme of Commonwealth Games 2022 was organized for the students of class 11 in which Swami Vivekananda House and Lokmanya Tilak House were declared winners respectively. Aurobindo House won the Inter House Kabaddi Competition .

 Principal , Upasna ji Modgil while discussing the achievements of Major Dhyan Chand ji on this occasion said that sportspersons should not play sports only from the point of view of winning medals and competition, but to create a high level culture with their strength and active life. It is important to recognize the style so that India can go ahead to set the heights of its performance in world sporting events.
