Lohri was celebrated with great fervour and enthusias
m in B.V.M.. The cultural event began with the special assembly where in students were apprised of importance of the festival of Lohri. Special competitions on folk dance and folk song for the students were organised. The winners of folk song  were Kamaljeet, Manik Arora and Anshika respectively. The first winner of folk dance was Raveesh, second was Vandana and third was Jashanpreet Singh. Students were dressed in traditional dresses and mesmerised the audience with their melodious folk songs. Participants of folk dance tapped their feet to Punjabi music and famous boliyaan of Lohri. The spirit of students was high to match the mood of celebration. The holy fire was lit and the ritual of offering Prasad to the fire was performed by the Principal and the staff members. Students also did charity work by donating clothes to ‘kusht Asharam’ on this occasion. Principal Mrs. Rajni Arora greeted everyone on Lohri and also appreciated the students for their brilliant performances by giving them prizes. She emphasised that negativities like jealousy, anger, lethargy should also be burnt out while we pay our obesceince in the bonfire.
