Aiming at spreading awareness among masses about the detrimental effects of overpopulation not only to humans but to the environment as well, World Population Day was observed by with ardent enthusiasm on 11th July. Ms.Monika Gupta (Economics Lecturer) in her speech emphasised the need to curb population for the future generations to relish the available limited resources. A string of online activities like poster making, slogan writing, one act play, mono act, group play with family and speeches were also organised to make everyone aware of the hazards of over population. One act play grabbed the attention of all towards this burning issue wreaking havoc on the livelihood and the daily lives of people. Power point presentation of group play with family was also prepared by the students of XI highlight ing the problems caused by over population. To mark the importance of the day more stress was laid on the ill effects of the rise in population. An impressive speech was based on how population explosion effects the nature and the distribution of resources and also to educate people about the consequences of rampant population growth.
