World Food Safety Day observed with an aim to generate awareness related to healthy food choices among general masses and to curb the spread of Covid-19 through food and food handlers. "Food safety has a critical role in assuring that food stays safe at every stage of the food chain - from production to harvest, processing, storage, distribution, all the way to preparation and consumption", said Ms. Rajinder Kaur (Biology lecturer). Myriad benefits of safe food were endorsed by students participating in an online activities. Through speeches an attempt was made to promote general hygiene. Posters and Slogans with intense thoughts disseminated the message how unsafe food contains harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemical substances causes more than 200 diseases ranging from diarrhoea to cancer. In a nutshell, an endeavor was made to promote good health and hygienic practices.
