To commemorate the invention of 'The Raman Effect' by the Indian Physicist, Sir Chandrasekhar Venkata Raman, a special assembly was organised by the Science Faculty, wherein lined up activities made the occasion memorable. Mrs. Richa Malhotra, HOD Science, first recalled the path breaking discovery of Raman Effect which led to the winning of Nobel Prize by Professor CV Raman and explained several complex aspects of Science and Technology lucidly by giving day to day examples through PowerPoint Presentation prepared by Ms. Harpreet Kaur , Ms Anupama Thakur (PRT Science Teachers) and Ms Rajinder (Lecturer Biology ). Furthermore, Ms Dolly (Physics Lecturer) and Ms Sangeeta(PRT Science Teacher) designed riddles to impart scientific knowledge were enjoyed by all. Ms Rimjim (Lecturer Chemistry) beautifully explained the periodic table in an easy manner. Colourful Rangolis and revolving boards highlighting the Global trends in Science and Technology were the centre attraction.
Principal, Upasna Modgil praised the meticulous planning of the Science Department to make the celebration a stupendous success and spoke about creating the awareness about the benefits of science to mankind and also to develop rational thinking and scientific temper in our young generation.
